East End Field and Healthy Kids Day 2015

Richmond Promise Neighborhood at Peter Paul Development Center and the Downtown YMCA are hosting the third annual East End Community FieldDay/Healthy Kids Day. The event will be held on Thursday, August 20 from 11:00 am-2:00 pm at the field behind Woodville Elementary School.

13896922870_90a4dd2215_zThis free, family-friendly event will include healthy food, physical activities and games and will provide an opportunity for families to learn about programs and resources in the East End that get our kids up and moving. Last year’s Field Day drew 900 people, included dozens of partnering organizations, and was staffed by more than 60 volunteers. Click here for pictures. As always, the Field Day will feature games, competitions, dancing, and lots of fun!

PPDC Mentor Program Diveristy Program

CcDiversity Workshop Details : May 30, 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m.

Mentor Program Coordinator CasSandra Calin will be facilitating a Diversity Workshop tailored specifically to working with youth in the East End of Richmond. We hope all mentors can attend this workshop and we are inviting other community members and PPDC volunteers. The event will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and lunch will be provided. Please RSVP by Friday, May 8th to let us know you’ll be coming. Space is limited.

Community Give Back Night at Mosaic

We’re having a very special event and you’re invited! Treat yourself to dinner and give back to Peter Paul. Join us on Monday, April 27 for a delicious meal and good company, all for a good cause. Please invite your family and friends in support of PPDC’s mission to support the residents of the East End and educate its students, equipping them to serve as positive contributors to their family, community, and society. Mentor Mentee Talent Show

Peter Paul Review

To showcase their newly learned talents and highlight their PPDC Club activities, Peter Paul will host the PPDC Review. Come on over to see students preform and show-off!

The Shakespeare Project

shakespeareUniversity of Richmond students have been working with a group of Peter Paul students on one act of a Shakespeare play. After all of their hard work the group will perform the act, along with others, at the University of Richmond’s Modlin Center.

When: Friday, April 7 at 6:00 pm

PPDC Heritage Program

Peter Paul will host a Heritage Program here at the Center to honor Black History Month. Students will showcase skits and performances on important moments in Black History. All parents and friends of PPDC are welcome!

RPN Info Feast to be Rescheduled

We hope you all are staying safe and warm in the winter weather!  Please know that we have opted to cancel the Richmond Promise Neighborhood Info Feast that was to be held on Thursday, February 19 due to inclement weather.  We are looking at a new date for early March and will share that information as soon as a plan is confirmed.
